Let's rewind about 6 months ago....my lovely wife and I had a hankering for some good ol' fish and chips and some other soul food of the sea, so we sauntered into our neighborhood Manhattan Fish Market restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. After ordering an insane amount of food, while waiting for the orders to pour onto our table from the kitchen, my wife noticed a sticker on the table promoting a jingle-writing-competition. "Look!", she says, while pointing excitedly at the sticker...."You should totally enter this competition!"
I'm not sure what drove her to push me to enter the competition....maybe it had something to do with the fact that I was now a full-time composer, or maybe it had something to do with the fact that the grand prize was a trip to New York for two, or maybe it had something to do with the fact that this could be a fun project anyway. My guess is, it was a combination of all these things.
A couple of months went by and we both forgot about the competition since I was busy working on a couple of projects anyway. It wasn't till we saw an online ad for it did we realize that it was still on.
We also noticed that they had extended the competition till the end of the year, so we saw it as a sign! A sign to get off my fat ass and work on this jingle!
